Purpose of Job

You will be responsible for providing support and assistance on a range of non-contentious commercial legal work.

Key Responsibilities

Working as part of a team to provide legal advice to global organisations including FTSE 100 companies. Including:

  • Reviewing, drafting, advising and negotiating a wide variety of commercial and corporate contracts including sale/purchase of goods and supply of services agreements; professional services and consultancy agreements; confidentiality agreements/non-disclosure agreements; statements of work; standard terms and conditions of business; variations and extensions; novation agreements; adoption agreements; addenda; assignment agreements; change requests; framework agreements; short form agreements; EULA’s; sponsorship agreements; termination agreements and other specialist agreements.
  • Providing advice relating on various matters including intellectual property rights, data protection, liability, IT security, use and delivery of services, compliance with client policies, payment terms and termination.
  • Completion of risk reviews/gap analysis/ full comparisons.
  • Working within agreed processes to tight deadlines.
  • Supporting with the compilation of data and the preparation of reports to provide customers with valued management information.
  • Liaising with the customer’s in-house legal team, procurement team and customer stakeholders.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Keeping up to date with relevant changes to the law.
  • Support with creating and implementing processes.
  • Providing support as and when required to the wider Riverview Law team.

  • You are required to manage your own time effectively in order to complete the work and meet deadlines.
  • You must create, maintain and promote a productive and supportive relationship with all your colleagues and adhere to the Riverview Law values.
  • You will work closely with all key stakeholders across the business to ensure services are delivered effectively.

Education / Qualifications

  • LLB Law (or non-law) Degree.
  • Studying towards or passed the CPE, LPC, BVC, PGDL, GDL or CiLEX.

Skills / Attributes / Experience

Suitable candidates will possess previous experience as a Legal Executive or Paralegal and will be able to demonstrate a high level of ability in terms of attention to detail, accuracy of data capture and process driven methodology. It is likely that your previous experience will have been gained within commercial contracts or corporate law.
